Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
I lost my brother Neil at the end of 2005, aged 44, who had suffered with M.E. for 14 years. There are around 240,000 people with this debilitating illness in the UK, 25,000 of whom are children.
My aim: to climb Kilimanjaro, the highest 'free standing' mountain in the world at 19,340 feet, in a record fundraising time of 72 hours, in October 2006.
STOP PRESS: 23/10/06: I REACHED UHURU PEAK ON THE 17 OCTOBER AT 06.15AM, MY THIRD NIGHT. MANY THANKS TO ALL MY SUPPORTERS!!!!!
My objective: to raise £10,000 for Action for M.E. (www.afme.org.uk) in order to increase public awareness of M.E. and help fund research/support M.E. sufferers.
This challenge is being organised by my good friend and expert mountaineer/sky diver, Nigel Gifford (O.B.E), who runs the adventure company High and Wild(www.highandwild.co.uk). Thank you Nigel!
Success Tours (www.success-tours.co.uk) has kindly agreed to donate £1.00 for every passenger that travels with the company between April and September this year! Thank you to Steve, Sean, the shareholders and all the team!
I am currently selecting a team to accompany me on this expedition, should you wish to apply please contact me via email : strattonpaul@hotmail.com
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Action for M.E. will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
Paul
