Story

Thanks for visiting my justgiving page.

*****MASSIVE THANKS TO COLIN PRESTON OF CASTLEGATE SECURITY WHO HAS VERY GENEROUSLY SPONSORED ME FOR £500!*****

On the 16th September 2010 I shall be undertaking the biggest physical challenge of my life by taking on a ten day “Charity Challenge” to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. At 5895m Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes to ever have broken through the earths crust and is the worlds tallest free standing mountain.

The whole reason for taking on this challenge is to raise valuable funds for the local Charity, Cancercare. I plan to raise over £4000 over the next year leading up to the climb in September.

As if I wasn’t mad enough just to take on one of the worlds tallest mountains, I’m also running The Lancaster Half Marathon on the 8th November 2009- (completed!) a massive, 26.2 miles in this years Edinburgh Marathon on May 23rd 2010, the Manchester 10KM on May 16th and the Cross Bay Half Marathon in June!

I am very, very lucky in that my family hasn’t been directly affected by Cancer.

However, many people are and it’s charities like CancerCare whose services are totally relliant upon fundraising that give sufferers and their families invaluable support.

All CancerCare's services are provided free of charge and they rely heavily on the support and goodwill of the local community for funds to provide them.

In the year to the end of March 2009, the number of people referred to CancerCare ,or who referred themselves, continued to accelerate. This resulted in a further increase in costs and took expenditure to over £1.1Million, all funded by voluntary subscription.

So please, please, please sponsor me.

So please dig deep and donate now.
