Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I came back into riding late on life. I rode as a child and teenager. Then work and life took over and I had neither the time nor the money to carry on so I rode friends horses whenever I could but that was about it.

unfortunately for me during my career i was the victim of a serious attack in my place of work. ( I was a forensic psychiatric nurse) sustaining both physical and psychological injuries a broken nose ,cracked cheek bone loss of a tooth, black eyes to-boot.. I took time off work to try to recover but in this time became seriously physically ill only to discover I had a bowel tumour. This was discovered during an emergency operation where a large part of my bowel was removed and I woke up to discover I had a colostomy .

I was very lucky that my tumour was benign but had caused so much damage to my bowel it was uncertain whether the colostomy would be permanent. After a year or so I had a bowel re section and my stoma was reversed the colostomy removed , a few hiccups over a few years but I got there.

Anyway cut to the chase,  several years of recovery from surgery, PTSD! Injuries from my attack I obviously medically retired from work and here I am back riding doing the thing I love most and being part of the wobbleberry challenge team

SO please donate to this amazing cause on my page many many thanks

Paula xx
