We The Drinks Trust provide support to the people of the UK drinks industry

Story

Ok, so I cycle to work everyday and I've crossed the top third of France on my trusty (and now slightly shabby) Canondale a couple of times before, but this year is the big one – I'm riding from Champagne to Hermitage, a 600km challenge in five days (from Monday 6 to Friday 10 June).

While this is a personal test, it's also for charity, and I'm raising funds for the Wine and Spirits Trades' Benevolent Society, which is a fantastic organisation for those people connected to the drinks industry who are suffering from illness or injury. There are some tragic examples of wonderful people who find themselves incapable of supporting themselves either through age or disability and this charity seeks to help them.

Due to the worthwhile nature of the cause and the scale of the challenge – we'll be riding over 125km a day across some mountaineous terrain – some sponsorship, even if it's a couple of quid, would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Also, it should be added that donating through JustGiving is totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate.
