Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. First, why Paparat ? Our son Jonathan has been known by everyone as Ratty for over 25 years and as I am his Dad ...well it just follows. Second, why Journey ? Because for me this trek will be a journey - a journey into the unknown ! Because of the altitude there is no guarentee that I will make it to the top. I intend to do BUT ..you never know. Third, why the MS Society ? Well, having worked with people who have the condition and knowing other people who suffer from it I have seen the way that it impacts on their lives and the way they have to manage things. The condition also has a big impact on the families of these people and so many people can be affected by the condition in one way or another. So, where does that leave me ? I have booked my flights, obtained my visa and am in the process of getting my kit together, all of which seems to take up quite a bit of time. I am also trying to keep reasonably fit as the fitter you are the better chance you have of avoiding Altitude Sickness ( so I am told ).
So, if you can see your way to donating a couple of quid, or more if you wish, please feel free to do so and accept my thanks. All money donated will go straight to MS Society as I am paying for the whole trip myself ( well, Joan is !! ) The trek takes place early in 2013 so D-day is not far away !! Wish me luck !
