Story
Friend's of P.I.C.U is a registered charity which supports additional equipment for the paediatric intensive care unit at Southampton General Hospital. The unit cares for children from birth until 16 yrs of age with critical health condidtions. The unit is first in class and the funds go towards maintaining that status. Children from all over the south of England and the Isle of Wight are cared for in this unit.
As many of you know, when Gabriella had her accident in 2006, she was cared for at Southampton General's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (P.I.C.U)
The care the doctors and nurses gave to Gabriella and us as a family was second to none, and we could not have asked for any more support and advice from all of the staff in the P.I.C.U ward. Some of the nurses, after working long 12hr shifts, would then often be seen fundraising outside the hospital, raising funds for the unit.
As a family, we constantly try to fundraise for the unit. We all value the hard work that the unit staff provide, and very much wish to raise funds for the much needed equipment that WILL save lives of young children.
Thats why we are all taking part in the Great South Run on the 30th October! Please support us. We need to hit a target of at least £1,000 between us, but would love to go further. Anything you can donate will be hugely appreciated, not just by us, but also by all of the staff, parents and children in P.I.C.U. Please, DIG DEEP.
Thank You, from all of us,
Jackie, Gabriella, Bernadette, Sophia and Rob xxx
