Story
At Palmer Park Velo we have decided that we are ready for a challenge!! So we have set ourselves the challenge of riding a combined distance of 1800km to raise money for the relocation of Ekukhanyeni Orphanage. Our challenge will take place on the 15th October 2011 from 9:00am until 12:00am!!
Ekukhanyeni Orphanage is situated in Ingwavuma a rural village in the North East corner of South Africa. Ekukhanyeni is home to 36 vulnerable children who were without support, shelter, food or love. It is currently situated 11km outside of Ingwavuma with no running water or electricity. However the Zoe Trust strongly feels that in order for the children living there to receive the best possible start to life and have the opportunity to thrive both at school and at home the orphanage must be relocated to a fantastic new site much closer to the town centre.
The relocation will not only help the 36 children living at Ekukhanyeni today but will help generations of children in the future. So please help us to help them to a brighter future and donate today!
Today the Palmer Park Riders rode 3208.73km smashing their original target of 1800km!! Every rider gave 110% struggling through the pain and tiredness. A fantastic achievment!!
