Surrey Seals Walk to Poland!

Surrey Scouts oversees and supports scouting activities in Surrey. This includes running county-wide events such as Scoutabout, SCRAM and Bazzaz, running DofE and the World Jamboree units, and operating our activity centre, Bentley Copse, in the beautiful Surrey Hills.

Story

Surrey Seals - UK Unit 62 to the 26th World Scout Jamboree 2027. We are one of the units made up of 36 young people and 4 leaders that will be attending the WSJ in Gdansk, Poland in 2027. As part of our journey, we need to raise some money which will go towards our unit kit, activities, training camps, and fun days for our unit members.

To raise this money, we will be "Walking to Gdansk!". Each unit member will be walking approx. 37.5km / 23mi - x40 unit members for a total distance of 1500km / 932mi, the distance from Bentley Copse (Surrey Scouts HQ) to the Jamboree site, Sobieszewo just outside Gdansk.

A Jamboree is a truly life-shaping event, giving young people the opportunity to learn life skills, grow in leadership and confidence, and help them become better active citizens in their local communities, both now and in the future. The theme of the Jamboree is "Bravely", with which we aim to inspire young people to act courageously for the future of humanity and the planet.
