Story

I am running the Yorkshire marathon to raise money for Airedale Neo-natal unit. Through Airedale Hospital & Community Charity the official charity of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. I’ll also be running this in a 9kg weight vest. To hopefully raise enough to get the unit a Vapotherm Oxygen Assist Module.

Airedale SCBU looked after our son for 7 weeks after being born at 28 weeks and 2 hospital moves.

Visiting an intensive care unit can be scary and stressful. Especially with all the machines and alarms that you don’t understand. After being at other hospital Neo-natal units with different equipment we realised how nice it was to have the Oxygen Assist Module. Correcting oxygen levels and flow avoiding the constant alarms, allowing us as parents to just sit and relax a little. I would like to raise the money so that other new parents can sit and take it all in without the alarms.

The significance. York. Baby Oliver was born at York Hospital. October. He’ll be just over a year old. 9kg vest. The average male 1 year old weighs 9.6kg.

Thankyou
