Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 15th of July 2022 I was involved in a Road Traffic Accident in which I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury and many other life changing injuries. I'm still in full rehabilitation and this will continue for a long time, it's hard to motivate myself some days. Its 12 months to the day all my friends and family walked The Three Yorkshire Peaks to help me and my family. The money my Mum and Step Dad needed to visit me in Leeds General Hospital was £250 a week! That was just for petrol and parking not including what I needed. I was in hospital for 5 months. This is why I'm raising money for Day One Trauma Support, they are a small Charity and hopefully you will never need them but they need us. They met my Mum whilst I was in ICU. They gave her £250 which covered just one week of expenses, this is all they can afford to give at the moment. They also supported my family in their dark days and continue to stay In touch. They offer so many services (counselling, legal information etc). I can't imagine not seeing my Mum everyday when i needed her the most. We were lucky to have such supportive family and friends, but unfortunately some people aren't as lucky as us and can't afford the travel expenses. Day one trauma support need more money to help all these families be with their loved ones. I have already walked 180,000 steps over 30 days (approx 85miles). This was a huge challenge for me alongside all my rehabilitation too. Now keighley cougars are supporting me to raise more! So please give what you can!
