Story
Team Dudley consists of Jack, Rory and Luke!
We all work for The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust are planning to tackle the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run - Birmingham Half Marathon on Sunday 5th of May in a bid to raise vital funds for the Dudley Group NHS Charity.
We have set ourselves the ambitious target of raising a £1,000 between us!
We are all eager to raise as many donations for the charity as we can, we know the difference the Trust charity makes in the experience of our patients at what can sometimes be the most difficult time of their lives.
Examples of how donations are used to benefit the staff and the patients:
•iPads for patients to contact family
•A refurbished playroom on the childrens ward
•Scalp cooling machines for the C4 Georgina Unit
•Creation of a dedicated baby bereavement suite on the maternity ward
•Staff rest areas indoors and outdoors across the Trust and staff care packages
Your donation, no matter how large or small, will really make a difference in enhancing the wellbeing and experience of our patients and staff!
Luke, “I am delighted to announce that Team Dudley will be taking to the streets of Birmingham this May to help improve the care and experience of patients at the Dudley Group. We wanted to come together on a common goal whilst giving back to our Trust charity which supports and funds so many great initiatives at the Trust. I’m hoping the atmosphere and crowds on the day is going to push me through the miles!”
Jack, “I am always up for a challenge, and the half marathon is a perfect opportunity for me to push myself, I am looking forward to the day. I want to encourage as many colleagues, family, friends, and members of the public as possible to get right behind us and donate to Team Dudley.”
Rory, “It is great to do something positive with my colleagues, a few years ago I was an elite runner and took part in races regularly. Unfortunately, due to two hip surgeries I have not been able to compete in a long distance run for a while. This is the first time I will be doing the Birmingham Half and am aiming to complete it in 1 hour 40 minutes!”
