Story
Ellie Wibberley
Registered Home Manager.
"I have worked in care since I was 18, 10 years to date. I commenced my role as care assistant at Toray Pines in October 2018 and have worked my way up, taking over as registered home manager in October of 2023. Here at Toray Pines, we specialise in dementia and Alzheimer’s and run a first-floor unit dedicated to this. The team and I have a passion for giving back meaning to people’s lives. A massive part of this involves education and reassurance for loved ones as the information around Alzheimer’s and dementia is usually limited and unheard of, following a diagnosis. We as a team have a passion for this cause, to spread information and raise funds, in the hope one day a cure for dementia causing diseases will be found. Until then we support adding life to the years of those who live with us and hope to raise £5000 for these amazing causes and awareness around dementia. Thankyou for all your support."
12 volunteers from our team at Toray Pines Care Home are going to be facing the challenging task of walking The Great Edale Walk to Mam Tor (12k) in the Peak District. We have set the target of raising £5k for the charities, Alzheimer’s Society and Dementia UK, and with your help we believe we can reach it!
365 days a year, 7 days a week, we support residents in all stages of dementia & witness the devastating effects that it has on the individuals, as well as the lasting impact it has on loved ones.
Each member of Team Toray builds a unique support unit for these residents. Management, Housekeeping, Carers and Lifestyle provide the holistic environment to help individuals remain independent, mobile and stimulated throughout their days with us. We believe the more that we can raise for the disease, the more elements of support these beneficial charities can contribute to research and development.
