Story
Playing 3 rounds of golf on 7 successive days at 21 different courses with 21 different playing partners sounds a little extreme right?
Behind every challenge there's a reason & mine is two fold, firstly to achieve this feat in the memory of someone who I thought the world of who recently lost her battle with cancer, June was very special to me, a wonderful lady with a character like no other I'd met, her final few weeks were the bravest & probably most inspiring times of my life, so courageous yet so full of life, it meant the world to me to spend the time with her in those times, she illuminated the room, you see that was June, it's what she did & we all loved her all the more for it x
Secondly to the brilliant team at St Lukes in Winsford who cared for her so brilliantly, I have so much admiration for what that team of wonderful people actually do for people in need, the words 'brave' & 'inspiring' are hugely appropriate in both of the reasons why I'm taking this on.
So with all this in mind, my challenge is 21 rounds in 7 days on 21 different courses & it is their bravery & inspiration that will see me do it. Any support would be fantastic & wonderfully appreciated.
Starting Tee - Sandiway GC on Sunday 30th July at 6.30am
Finishing Tee - Portal Champ GC on Saturday 5th August at 4pm
The St Lukes story
Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness.
We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
