Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Most of us will know someone who has had cancer or will have lost someone close to us due to cancer. Hospices provide invaluable end of life support and rely on fundraising to keep going.

We - Andrea, Andy, Dave, Emmeline, Kasha, Kirsten, Mary and Therese - have decided we would like to fundraise for our local hospice - St Wilfrid's by committing to sea swim an agreed distance throughout the month of May. In doing so we face weather conditions, potential 'no swim' days and the ever present current! Between us we initially hoped to cover 33k in the month (the width of the English Channel). We soon wondered whether we could swim the equivalent of there and back again. And then we upped our game - and are heading for the target of 100k in May!

St Wilfrid's were a great help to local man Pete Tattam and family... Pete was well known in Seaford for a number of community activities including his role in the Cycling Without Age and Seaford Beach Clean.

Andy will be remembering Ashy and Jax as she swims, as well as Pete.
