Story
In April 2015 I crossed the finish line of Brighton Marathon with a ‘never again’. Once felt enough, but I've had an urge for London...
Lots of you know that London Marathon is my favourite event to cheer at. Over the last 15 years I’ve been there shouting, clapping and in awe of the people doing it. The power of individuals coming together with personal stories is unbelievably special and I can’t wait to be part of it.
I’m running for three reasons.
1. Too many people in the UK are fighting for their breath and something has to be done to change that.
2. I’m 40 next year and London Marathon feels a good way to celebrate.
3. My signature double handed wave needs work.
I work for Asthma + Lung UK as their Head of Physical Activity, it’s the only charity in the UK doing essential work for our most fundamental function. The thought of not being able to breathe is terrifying and an experience too many people are living with daily. 1 in 5 of us will develop a lung condition in our lifetime.
I’d love your support in any way you can, words of encouragement, cheers on the day, and if you can, donations towards our lungs.
If you can donate, please pop down a number between 1-26 in your comment, I’ll carry your name with me on the day and it’ll help me smile (and wave) away the miles.
Thank you.
Better go for a run!
