At the age of 50 I was called for my routine mammogram, little did I know I would then be on a rollercoaster that I really didn't want to ride! It has been a hugely emotional journey which resulted in an operation to remove 2 cancerous tumours and some of my lymph nodes, followed by a number of radiotherapy sessions.

Throughout this journey the Breast Care Unit staff have been a huge amount of support to me, from the nurses spending time sitting and explaining each step of the journey, to being at the end of a phoneline for the days when I read a letter or see something online that caused me to worry and end up in tears. They exist to provide practical and emotional support to the men and women of Worcestershire, working closely with the NHS specialist breast care team to provide the best possible care in the best possible environment.

I really wanted to find a way to give something back for all the help and support I have received so decided to get myself back into running and set myself a goal; I am therefore running Worcester City half marathon with a few of my family and close friends, if you could donate to this great cause then it would mean the world to me and give me motivation to complete the 13 miles.
