Story
To Celebrate his 80th Birthday this year, Roger is setting himself the unenviable challenge of cycling 800 miles over a period of 8 days. (that's 100 miles per day for those of you reaching for the calculator). 5 years ago, he cycled 750 miles with his daughter Marti over 7 days and now feels he should go one ( or fifty ) better.
Anyone who is free to join him on one or more of his rides between Saturday 15th July and Sunday 23rd July feel free to get in touch. (Although this is weather dependent and subject to change given the current state of the UK weather)
It's all for a good cause, Rogers own sense of achievement, but also, to support Rainbows Children's Hospice - a Leicester based charity that my family and I have supported for many years, offering invaluable care to those with life limiting illnesses and their families. www.rainbows.co.uk
Please share in his journey, possibly the last big ride of this cycling titans career and help support this amazing charity.
*** UPDATE***
Roger has now finished his ride, cycling what some may realise was way over the 800 mile mark thanks to some erroneous Strava reporting.
Here's hoping a well earned rest is on the cards for him, having reached both his physical and financial target. No doubt he will still be on his bike this weekend on the weekend club run. We'll done Rog!
