Story
Rodney first came into the care of Cats Protection North Hertfordshire back in January after being found abandoned. With his charming personality and affectionate nature, he was quickly adopted. Sadly, Rodney was returned to us in June because his owner kept tripping over him. He loves nothing more than walking around your feet, always wanting to be close.
Once settled back into Cats Protection care, Rodney's foster carer noticed something wasn’t quite right. He kept shaking his head, so off to the vet he went. After several check-ups, antibiotics and further investigations, the diagnosis came: Rodney had painful ear polyps that required surgery. We consulted specialists to ensure he received the best possible care and the best chance for a healthy future.
Since then, Rodney has bravely undergone not one, but three surgeries! The good news? He’s now fully recovered, and his hearing is thankfully intact. His playful, loving personality is shining through once again, and he’s ready to brighten someone's home.
However, Rodney’s treatment has come at a significant cost to Cats Protection, with his veterinary bills now exceeding £3,000. That’s why we’re asking for your support. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a huge difference in helping us cover these expenses, allowing us to continue caring for Rodney and other cats in need.
Now that Rodney is feeling better, he’s on the lookout for his forever home. Someone who can give him all the attention and affection he deserves. He’s a lap cat through and through, loves a good chat, and would thrive in a home with children or other pets (as long as his new family keeps an eye on his food habits. He’s a bit of a foodie!).
Any funds raised beyond the cost of Rodney’s care will go towards helping other cats at Cats Protection North Hertfordshire get the medical attention they need and find their own happy homes.
Thank you so much for your generosity and support. Rodney and the team at Cats Protection truly appreciate it!
