Story
I CAN WALK 4,000 miles
I started walking for charity when I was 34, in 1992 and have completed close to 35,000 miles in walks and Global expeditions. This year is my 25th anniversary of walking in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care, and since then I have founded a 200-mile Pilgrimage of Cornwall in honour of the charity which I walk each year. Throughout this year and possibly up until the following St Piran’s Day 2026, I aim to walk each day for the hospice, fundraise by walking national trails and the Cornish Pilgrimage and also undertake expeditions overseas where possible: averaging 1000 miles per season. There is little help from the government these days so it is important to step up and help the charity whilst I am still able. Also, I appreciate money is tight for all of us, and so ask no more than a £1 donation per person if possible. And God Bless you all in these very difficult and uncertain times! I promise I will do my best! Thank you.
Our purpose is to provide compassionate, specialised end of life care for patients, their families and carers at the time when they need it most. Together with our local community in Cornwall we will continue to make every day matter.
We strive to develop and secure the resources necessary to achieve this, both now and in the future. With only 17% of our funding coming from Cornwall's NHS Commissioners, the rest is raised with the support of the people of Cornwall and beyond - thank you all.
