Story
In memory of Harry Edward Hewitt who had a short life but touched so many hearts 🦖.
26.06.2023 - 10.11.2023
Harry (first baby of Jack and Paige) was born at 26 weeks weighing a tiny 450grams who had a low survival rate but lived for 141 days. Harry was born at 26 weeks at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford following Paige developing preeclampsia and Harry having restricted growth. Throughout Harry’s short life he was on and off the ventilator due to poorly developed lungs, he had sepsis, line infections, cardiac arrests and a perforated bowel - meaning a stoma was formed. Harry was in NICU at John Radcliffe for 118 days before he was moved to Gosset Ward at Northampton General Hospital and lost his life 23 days later. Harry always put up a fight and was well known at NICU at John Radcliffe as was Jack and Paige. Jack and Paige were always at Harry’s cot side and never missed a doctors round.
Some of us are runners, some of us are taking on a massive challenge but we’re doing this is memory of Harry Hewitt following all the support Harry, Jack and Paige received at NICU at John Radcliffe.
Please see below about SSNAP and why this is a close charity to Jack and Paige’s heart. No matter what the sponsor we will always be thank you and hope sick babies/families get amazing care like Harry, Jack and Paige did.
