One Heli of a TASC is a team of East Midlands ambulance staff taking on the iconic Land’s End to John o’ Groats cycle challenge 1,000 miles, and we’re attempting to complete it in just 10 days. It’s an enormous test of endurance, especially considering some of us aren’t exactly seasoned cyclists… but the cause is worth every mile.

We’re doing this to raise vital funds and awareness for TASC (The Ambulance Staff Charity) the charity dedicated to supporting the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of ambulance staff past and present. TASC is there when the pressures of the job become overwhelming, when trauma catches up, and when the people who care for everyone else need help themselves. Their work genuinely changes lives, and they are at the heart of why we’re riding.

We’re also supporting the Air Ambulance, an essential partner in emergency care and a lifeline to both patients and frontline crews on some of our most challenging jobs. Their rapid response and critical care save lives every day, and we’re proud to include them in this challenge.

This ride isn’t just about distance.

It’s about shining a light on the mental health struggles faced by emergency service workers, starting conversations that rarely happen, and showing solidarity for the colleagues who carry unseen burdens long after a shift ends.
