Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

This is a gruelling coast to coast race across Scotland from Portpatrick to Cockburns path. 27,000ft ascent over the hills and trails. You are allowed 100 hours to complete this race. It starts at 6am Saturday morning at Portpatrick on the 12th August and you have got to finish at Cockburns Path by 10am on Wednesday 16th August.

The clock doesn't stop, if you stop for a rest or refreshment the clock continues. It's called an ultra for a reason, you've got to fight fatigue and sleep deprivation to keep going.

I have completed this race twice in the past, the last time was 4 years ago and it takes several months to recover from. I attempted it last year but at 87 miles I went over my ankle due to the terrain and regretfully had to pull out.

I have been a Firefighter for 34 years and I wanted to give back to the charity support all serving and retired members of the UK's fire family to live healthier and happier lives.
