Story
Assalamu-alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakaatuh
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam,
As you may already be aware Pinderfields Hospital are planning to install a new "state of the art" MRI scanning diagnostic suite with two new MRI Scanners.
Their benefits will include:
• Capacity to carry out 25,000 more scans per year.
• A provide speedier and faster treatment for the majority of seriously ill patients who come to A&E requiring a CT or MRI scan.
• Scans for cancer (particularly prostrate, lung, and breast) will provide better information reducing the need for biopsy procedures.
• Better and faster brain, spine, cardiac, vascular, and joint scans.
• More friendly and less intimidating for children who need urgent scans.
Ulama and representatives of Masaajid from Batley, Dewsbury, Heckmondwike, Ravensthorpe and the wider area came together to discuss how the Muslim community should participate in this worthy cause. At the meeting, it was agreed that we ALL need to work together and contribute for the benefit of the whole community.
All Masaajid have given their overwhelming support to the project, and it was agreed that all Masaajid across the North Kirklees and Wakefield area will make a public appeal for donation for the new MRI Scanner from Friday 14th March 2024 onwards. (mosques will have discretion to plan the appeal according to their own local practice).
In addition, all Madressa's have also agreed to participate in the appeal and children will be encouraged to donate El for the MRI Appeal (envelopes for children to take home will be provided by the Trust).
