Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
For many years I have fundraised for charity as it has double benefits - a worthy cause gets much needed funds, and I have the motivation to do the exercise to stop myself getting fat.
I was going to have a year off this year as the start of 2023 did not commence as planned at the end of last year, however the enforced job changes, suddenly not doing the daily exercise my body had got used to & lack of motivation all meant one thing - I got fat!
So, here we are again - I'm running a half marathon (something I have not run since 2019), meaning I am having to do the exercise that I really need to do.
Why MacMillan? I think we all know someone that has needed assistance from this charity, my family included, and after years of being my Tombola & Raffle Campaign Manager for whatever charity I had gone for that year, I gave my Mum the choice who we were going to fundraise for this year.
I am doing a raffle in September, but if you feel able to donate something to this worthy cause, no matter how small, everything in these harder times is greatly appreciated.
