Royal Sutton Fun Run 2025 · 1 June 2025 ·

The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity who creates, protects and cares for woodland across the UK. We are working hard to create a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. But we can't do this alone. We can't achieve our vision without you.

Story

On Sunday 1st June, we will be taking part in the Royal Sutton Fun Run to raise money for the Woodland Trust.

The Woodland Trust works to protect woods and trees, restore ancient woodland and plant new native woods for the future.

Joey, Danny and Jake are avid recorders of ancient and veteran trees and, so far, have found a total of 76 previously unmapped trees to add to the Woodland Trust's Ancient Tree Inventory, which aims to document as many as possible of these living legends to help secure the protection they deserve. They have also been involved in helping to plant saplings donated by the Woodland Trust in our local community.

The 8.5 mile Fun Run route will take us through Sutton Park, which is home to 21 of the trees Joey, Danny and Jake have recorded and was recently designated an Ancient Tree Site. We will be running to celebrate these and other ancient trees and woods and to help ensure they can continue to survive and thrive.
