Story
Circa 1996: "You'll never run the London Marathon!" he scoffed...
Me 2019: "Get me help if I announce I'd like to run a marathon!"
2023: Disappointed not to get a ballot place and looking to support a charity to help raise funds.
July 2023: Signed up for TeamMACS
Fast-forward to 2024: Running the London Marathon!
I've chosen to run for MACS after receiving an email at work looking for educational professionals to fundraise for them. MACS supports people born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. I'm looking forward to learning more about the charity and raising awareness of the work they do in the school community and amongst friends and family.

This year, 114 families in the UK will be told their babies have no eyes, small eyes, or a cleft in the eye. Many of them will have additional needs or other health challenges. Some will be told there’s no hope that their child will ever see. They may feel hopeless and alone - but they are not alone and there is hope.
MACS is the UK's national charity for children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. We help over 3000 people from 1000 families across the UK, supporting them at every stage of their journey by providing peer support, practical help and opportunities to take part in life-changing activity trips.
