Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, in memory of Liz, who sadly passed away suddenly on 10th May 2024, aged 62 from a brain haemorrhage, which is believed to have been caused by blood thinners given during the treatment of a clot (PE).
Liz was a kind soul; She was a pillar within our family, a loving and devoted mother and nana and much loved sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend. She worked hard all her life and loved all animals, especially dogs. She spent countless hours helping reunite people with their lost pets within her community, and would make bedding and crochet little jumpers for animals in rescue centres during the winter. She also enjoyed spending time with dogs in rescues, to help get them used to being around people and taking them on walks. She had a particular fondness for the old, sick dogs that often spend long periods in rescues due to lack of interest and also fostered an old dog, so that they spent their last years in comfort.
Liz had a genuinely warm heart, she had time for people, lived a full life and was always active. She had no symptoms before needing to go into hospital with her PE and due to the bleed on her brain, was taken from us much sooner than she should have been.
We hope that by asking for donations, in Liz' memory, for Brain Research UK, we can help support them in their funding of vital neurological research that may one day help prevent others from being lost like Liz.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause, that means so much to Liz and her family.
