Story
Wilbur & Orville Wright spent four years of research and development to create the first successful powered airplane in 1903. So after a decade of Uncle James & his Dad, Jim attempting to build their own Kitty Hawk no one really thought it would actually fly.
So, one Sunday lunchtime a few years ago I said to Uncle James (after a few wines) that if he ever did finish his plane I would fly alongside him on my 50th birthday!
And,… he only went and bloody well done it! So my challenge was accepted. What I didn’t realise was, it is an ‘experimental’ (wtf!?) plane. An RV7, ‘experimental’ sports aerobatic plane to be precise with 180 hp and capable of speeds up to 230mph and +6 -3g manoeuvres. A plane that goes upside down and round & round. For someone who had to have a lie down after riding the Troublesome Trucks Runaway Rollercoster at Thomas Land, me thinks it’s going to be challenging.
If you would like Uncle James to share 360 degree footage of me pooping my pants online, please consider donating to my 50th birthday fundraiser. Thank you.
All proceeds go to Chestnut Tree House. A children’s charity providing hospice care and community support for children and young people with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.
There are hundreds of children and young people in your local community who are unlikely to reach adulthood. And even more parents and family members who need care, help and support on their journey, as they don't know how long they will have together.
Your support helps families to spend time together. Precious moments that give a lifetime of memories. Namaste.
