We help deaf children to learn to listen and talk.

Story

Frances Hughes has been involved with The Elizabeth Foundation for preschool deaf children for nearly 30 years, when her daughter moved to England to work for the charity. Their work supports deaf children to learn to listen and talk, involving the whole family in the service provision. Franny was full of fun and had a real love of life and people. She cherished her time with family and friends and her positivity, energy, and zest for life matches the ethos of the charity, making this a good way to honour her memory.

About the charity

The Elizabeth Foundation is a Family Centre with baby, toddler and pre-school sessions for deaf children and their families. We follow the 'Multi Sensory Oral Approach', to develop speech, language and listening skills by using all of the child's senses in a natural, fun, child-centred environment.
