Story
We (Tom, Will and Mike) are taking on the ultimate winter sports endurance challenge - Everest in the Alps - for Julia's House Children's Hospice.
In just a few weeks, we'll be ascending on skis the height of Everest (8,848m) in just four days. This gruelling event takes place in the Swiss Alps, involves approximately 32 hours of uphill ski touring and only three hours of downhill, with up to a total of 20 individual ascents. Each day, we'll climb between 2,000m – 2,500m to reach our overall target of 8,848m, and we'll burn through a daily average of 10,000 calories – the equivalent of running three back-to-back marathons.
We're taking on this tough challenge because we want to help families facing unimaginable heartbreak - the knowledge that their child may not live into adulthood.
Julia’s House is not a typical children’s hospice. They provide practical and emotional support for Dorset and Wiltshire families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition.
Amazingly, Julia’s House has to raise 93 per cent of the money it needs each year to run this vital service which is why we've chosen to support them. Your kind sponsorship will make a life-changing difference to these families.
