Josh's fundraiser for KEMP Hospice

Josh Mantle is raising money for KEMP Hospice

Mt Snowdon BAREFOOT 24 hours · 10 October 2026

Based in the heart of the Wyre Forest, KEMP Hospice offers free specialist care and support to patients, families and carers who are dealing with life limiting illness and bereavement. We’re by their side in our day hospice, in their home or virtually, as they face some of their toughest times.

Story

Barefoot up Snowdon, as many times as I can - 24 hours, no boots, no limits.

Hi, I'm Josh, l'm 20 years old from Stourport on Severn, and on Saturday 10th October I'm attempting the hardest challenge of my life: climbing Mount Snowdon barefoot, as many times as possible, in 24 hours.

I l've already had two knee surgeries, with a third on the way. Plenty of reasons to slow down but I refuse to be that way. I'd rather find out what l'm capable of than be told what I can't do.

A few years ago I fell in love with the outdoors, and it changed my life. It gave me purpose, and a goal bigger than myself: to show people that no matter what's stacked against you, you're capable of more than you think — if you give yourself a reason to fight for it. That's why I'm doing this barefoot. No boots to hide behind, just me, my knees, and a mountain I'l climb again and again until time runs out.

Why KEMP Hospice, Kidderminster

I'm raising money for KEMP Hospice, an amazing local charity that's supported our community for over 55 years. KEMP is a day hospice caring for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - nursing care, therapies, and bereavement support, even for children as young as five — all completely free. They rely on donations to keep showing up for people when it matters most, and that's exactly the kind of impact I want my life to stand for.

What's next

This isn't a one-off stunt. I'm about to launch my own outdoor adventure business, helping people heal and grow physically and mentally through nature. This challenge is me putting that mission into action before l've even started.

How you can help

Every donation goes straight to KEMP Hospice and funds free care for local families. Can't donate? A share or message of support means just as much it's exactly what'll keep me moving on hour 18, barefoot, halfway up again.

I'm not doing this because it's easy. I'm doing it to prove hard doesn't mean impossible.

Thank you for reading. Let's get to the top — more than once.
