We provide infomation, support & therapies to help people with MS and their families

Story

The Berkshire MS Therapy Centre in Reading provides a range of specialist therapies and support to people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and their families.

My father-in-law, Steve, has been going to the centre for about 9 years. Despite a change to his diagnosis (now classed as a 'degenerative neurological condition' rather than MS), the centre has continued to support him. As Steve is no longer able to move his limbs and can't really get out and about anymore, he's really valued the weekly visits.

For about as long as Steve's been struggling with his mobility, I've been growing my dreadlocks (10 years!). If my hair was a real person, they'd be in primary school and thinking about their year 6 SATs!

It's now time for me to get rid of the locks... why not raise some money for charity at the same time?!

While I'm afraid to discover what lies underneath all this hair, I'm glad I can hopefully raise some money for a worthy cause at the same time!

If you wish to join me for the big chop, the event will be happening at a bar in Henley on Thames called Echoes on 5th May from 12pm with the big chop happening at about 4pm.

Everyone's welcome from 12pm to join in the raffle and fun! There will be a 'Guess The Weight Of The Dreadlocks' competition and a raffle on the day; with the chance to win the opportunity to cut a dreadlock off and some other prizes too! Details to follow about this.
