The Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity - The Cove Fund
The Cove Support centre team supports everyone affected by cancer. We know that a cancer diagnosis affects all areas of a person’s life, so the Cove team are there to help people find information and support when they need it. From information about specific types of cancer, treatments and how best to live with it, to support with finances and benefits, diet, exercise or just someone to talk things through.
The Cove aim to help people to get back some feeling of control and are there for patients, family and friends. We also have resources to support children who may be affected by an adult’s diagnosis. These age specific toolkits and books are funded by the charity and are helpful to start conversations and explaining a parent’s illness.
The Cove run several support groups including the Friends, Family and Carers group. A chance to share experiences and understanding in a safe environment.
Situated at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, the building provides a relaxed lounge area, particularly useful for anyone waiting between treatments or just needing a quiet space, a specific area for teenagers and young adults affected by cancer and a café.
