Story
In December 2023, we sadly lost my sister Chloe, at the young age of 18. Chloe was a beautiful and bright soul, with a true love for life. A real adrenaline junkie who enjoyed being active and outdoors, with an interest in various sports including rugby, skydiving & surfing. Chloe was also a talented carpenter and joiner with a real flair for the trade, so much so she won gold in the Skillsbuild national competition for joinery. As well as conquering extreme sports and carpentry, Chloe had a love for being in the water which led to her efforts of clearing litter from the sea beds where she would dive as well as local beaches.
In respect of Chloe’s passion and love for the ocean, after her passing, family and friends from up and down the country came together to raise money for the charity by uniting two of her biggest passions and interests in life, the ocean and skydiving. A group of brave loved ones, including myself, and our dad and brother, all harnessed up to complete a sky dive. All proceeds from the occasion were donated to Surfers Against Sewage in Chloe’s name, and after learning of her story, the charity proclaimed her a Sentinel of the Sea in honour of her love and dedication to the cause.
Surfers Against Sewage are a Cornwall based charity who campaign for cleaner oceans and shorelines. The team work to inspire a community that takes a true interest in and a commitment to caring for the planet and our oceans.
To honour Chloe’s passion and love for the ocean, this September we will be running the Great North Run for Surfers Against Sewage. A charity close to Chloe and our family’s heart.
Chloe, we hope to make you proud. x
