I'm taking part in the Great North Run to support families facing dementia because taking part with others together we can make a difference with donations to research and add more support to friends , families as they go through this challenging journey with their loved one. With your help we can help / support!! X I have chosen to support Dementia UK by taking part in the Great North Run , I may have to walk due to injury but will be there at the start and will finish, May take a time but as they say where there is a will there is a way. Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
