Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support.
This year has been challenging for myself and my family. I’ve lived with a heart condition my entire adult life called Atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT), in short it causes heart palpitations. Whilst not life threatening, it has and does cause disruption to leading a normal life. I’ve managed to live a pretty normal life with modifications until the start of this year. After two back to back viral infections, I found myself bouncing around A&E at least once a week and having to stay in close distance to a hospital as I could no longer self revert to a normal rhythm.
I underwent two heart ablations in March and April this year (a 2nd one required due to my my 1st failing which is rare for my type of arrhythmia). Recovery wasn’t completely straight forward however I am now free of SVT heart palpitations for the 1st time (I am temporarily left with atrial arrhythmia in the meantime).
With my physical and emotional health both taking a battering, I felt a new challenge was required and decided a half marathon to raise money for BHF was the best idea. The BHF carry out vital research that helps people like me with heart conditions and those with heart diseases.
No amount is too small and your support will mean the world to me.
Thanks everyone 😌
