I am David Barlow. I live in Broadclyst in Devon and on the 18th May 2025 I will be doing a speed walk from Okehampton to Broadclyst, a total of 26.7 miles. This walk will mark my 78th birthday and I am backed by some very supportive friends; one who helps me with media (which is like witchcraft for me); a walking mentor who is capable of walking at amazing speed, a lady who looks after my welfare and my springer spaniel Tommy who comes out with me every day.

I am doing this to raise money for Exeter Hospiscare, an invaluable service that is having to cut the number of beds because of financial shortages. They provide much needed care and dignity to those with any type of terminal illness at the end of their life.
