Last winter gorgeous Candy, was reported as a stray to the Gosport Branch. Out in the cold, Candy had been roaming around for about a month and was looking rather bedraggled with matts in her fur. We scanned Candy for a microchip and immediately advertised her as lost but unfortunately, no-one came forward and we had no luck with the information provided from Candy’s microchip. We took Candy into care and discovered she had a heavy flea burden, was thin and underweight, had discoloured fur on her paws and her coat was muddy and wet with long trailing matts of fur from her tummy, she also only had a few teeth remaining all of which needed to be extracted. The vet undertook Candy’s dental work as well as x-rays as they were concerned about her weight loss.

Following her visit to the vets and a change of diet we are pleased to report that Candy started putting on weight, she loved to play and her energy seemed mis-matched with her predicted age of 17 years old. We are even more pleased to share that earlier this year Candy found her forever home and her new owners are delighted with her, she has found her favorite armchair to sleep on and is totally at home.
