We offer support, advice and information to UK families affected by retinoblastoma

Story

Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you are aware, back in August 2022, my youngest son Harvey was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma at the age of 2 years old.

Retinoblastoma is a very rare form of cancer, with an average of 36 cases per year diagnosed in England. Retinoblastoma is most commonly found in children under the age of 5 years old.

Harvey has undergone intra arterial chemotherapy, vitreous chemotherapy, cryotherapy, he has had a radioactive plaque stitched into the back of his eye, and he is now having laser treatment on the active cells in the tumour. He has taken everything in his stride and I couldn’t be any prouder of him.

The staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital have been incredible with Harvey and as part of the team there we have been looked after and supported by the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT).

CHECT is the only UK charity solely dedicated to helping families and individuals affected by retinoblastoma. They provide support, raise awareness and fund research into prevention and treatment.

On Saturday 29th July 2023, I will be playing 4 rounds of golf consecutively to raise funds for CHECT, to help them in the work they do for children like Harvey. All money raised will be going to the charity and will make a huge difference.

Please donate what you can, to help me raise vital funds for this amazing cause.

Thank you!
