London Bridges Challenge Walk · 8 September 2023

We offer care and support to the Chelsea Pensioners

Story

On Friday 8th September 2023, a small group of Chelsea Pensioners, Royal Hospital staff, friends and Pearly Kings and Queens, will be crossing bridges over the Thames starting at Putney Bridge and finishing at Tower Bridge - 16 bridges in total, over 12 miles.

The team aim to raise £1600 (£100 per bridge) for the Royal Hospital Chelsea, The home of the Chelsea Pensioners.

Please help us to get to target by sponsoring this event and great cause.

Some 300 army veterans live at the Royal Hospital today, including those who have served in Korea, the Falkland Islands, Cyprus, Northern Ireland and World War II.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea offers excellent accommodation, comradeship and the highest standards of care in recognition of their loyal service to the nation. Any former soldier of the British Army over the age of 65, who is facing spending their advanced years alone, can apply for residence as an In-Pensioner.
