Story

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm aiming to run/walk from Land's End to John O'Groats in the period from 1st June to 5th July. Total expected distance is approx 1,030 miles and total ascent of 88,000 feet.

As of 15 June, and after 13 days running, I have made it to just south of Preston - 460 miles. Lots of 35 mile plus days but all limbs are still functioning. Weather superb so far.

Cornish coast path, Exmoor, the Quantocks, Seven Bridge, Wye Valley, Black mountains, Offa’s Dyke, Shropshire Way, Delamere forest, Rivington Reservoirs. All beautiful.

Update 22/6:

Now made it as far as Motherwell just south of Glasgow. Great day in the Lakes north of Penrith, crossed the border at Gretna on Thursday, and up the Clyde valley with a fly past from the Red Arrows on Friday. All good so far.

Update 29/6:

We have now got to Fort Augustus half way between Fort William and Inverness at the foot of Loch Ness. 830 miles down and around 200 to go. Last week included the West Highland Way from Milngavie (pronounced Mullguy (!)) to Fort William with some stunning scenery including Loch Lomond, Glencoe and the Devil’s staircase. Rest day today and then a six day push to the finish.

If you fancy some dot watching the tracker is here:

(Saturdays are rest days and the trackers can be a bit temperamental.)

I have been volunteering with TaxAid for almost 10 years. TaxAid helps those in need resolve their tax problems. A typical client receives very low income, has mental health issues and faces demands for £000s of tax penalties even though they have no tax liabilities at all. More details here https://taxaid.org.uk/about . I am aiming to raise funds for Bridge the Gap - TaxAid's fundraiser.
