Story

****UPDATE 06/01/2011******

Christmas is over for another year. Boo.

This page, however, will stay open for another five years. Cool, no?

So if you wish to belatedly donate because you liked my album, go ahead. You'd be changing the lives of some children with long term illnesses.

The plan, from now on, is that I'll add a few more songs each year and re-release the album each December, hopefully bringing more donations.

Keep in touch by following me on twitter @paddyjohnston until December 2011.

Paddy

Hi there!

Thanks very much for visiting my page. I'm sure you know that Christmas is the season of goodwill and a good time to raise money for charity. Seeing as I haven't taken exercise since 2003 and that makes a marathon out of the question, I figured I'd use the skills I have to create something that'll bring some joy this Christmas. So I've recorded an album of Christmas songs and released it digitally through my page on bandcamp (http://paddyjohnston.bandcamp.com) on a pay what you want basis. This means you can either donate through this page or by paying for the album on bandcamp. It's a mix of covers, traditionals and original songs (a la Sufjan Stevens, but not on five discs!).

I should also mention that I got this idea from the lovely people at For Folk's Sake (www.forfolkssake.com) who have done a Christmas album for The Integrated Cancer Centre at King's College Hospital, London. My version of 'O Holy Night' also appears on the bonus EP to their album, which you can hear at http://forfolkssake.bandcamp.com.

There are physical copies of the album too, so if you'd like on then e-mail me at paddy@paddyjohnston.co.uk and I'll send you one. What with the big freeze right now though you may not get it until next Christmas!

Please donate, and please like, tweet, tell your friends about it so that some very ill kids can have a memorable Christmas. Thanks.

Paddy
