Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On Sat 27 October a number of Oxford United fans will be walking 24 miles from the Kassam Stadium to Wycombe Wanderers' ground to watch the two sides play. We will be raising money for TWO wonderful charities The Oxford United Youth & Community Sports Trust and Helen & Douglas House.
The money raised will be split equally to both charities so anything you donate via this page will be split between BOTH charities.
The walk will take us nearly eight hours and we will be setting of from the Kassam Stadium at 5:30am and hope to arrive at Wycombe Wanderers at 13:00.
The Oxford United Youth and Community Sports Trust is a registered Charity, which aims to engage all of Oxford through sports, education and training. Engaging over 30,000 people per year the trust is an integral part of the local community and will endeavour to continue to serve Oxfordshire. But the grants that the Trust gets do not cover it's running costs and we hope to raise as much money as possible to plug this gap.
Helen & Douglas House has the time and expertise to care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions and support their families. The two hospice houses offer specialist symptom and pain management, medically-supported short breaks and end-of-life care, as well as counselling and practical support for the whole family.
It costs more than £4.5 million per year to run both hospice houses. The charity receive only 15-18% of this from sources other than voluntary donations. So please help us to raise money for this worthy cause by sponsoring the people taking part in the OxVox Walk to Wycombe.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. So please dig deep and donate now.
Please note: No money will be donated to OxVox, which is the Supporters' Trust of Oxford United (a non-for-profit organisation). OxVox is administering and organising the walk.
