Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, lives are turned upside down in an instant. Not just for the child but for their parents, siblings, family and friends. Priorities change and everyday concerns suddenly seem trivial. Getting well again can be a long and challenging journey, physically, emotionally and financially. Helping and supporting those children and their families is why Candlelighters was formed more than 40 years ago and it is why they are still here today.

We wanted to support Candlelighter's so that they can continue their important work; working with families facing childhood cancer, supporting the Candlelighters Children's Cancer Research Laboratory in Leeds, helping to fund external research projects across Yorkshire and buying most of the equipment for the Paediatric Oncology & Haematology Unit in Leeds, to which around 120 new young patients from across Yorkshire are admitted each year.

Sue, Dave, Caroline, James, Suzannah, Felicity, Andrew and I are all taking part and running/walking as Flick's All-stars. We are aiming to raise as much money as possible to support Candlelighter's in their important work.
