As some of you are aware following the birth of our baby daughter Jessica in the Autumn of 2012 my wife Sara was diagnosed and has bravely undergone throughout 2013 gruelling treatment for the effects of breast cancer.

Following the generously supported fundraising that we did in early 2013 for the Southend Hospital Charity Bosom Pals appeal I decided to set myself a further challenge of running a half marathon in March 2014 and raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Since February 2013 with the encouragement and support of a very good family friend I have been in training with gradually increasing distance road runs and numerous gym training sessions. Yes it is me you sometimes see very puffed out making my way along the seafront!
