Story
Thanks for making it this far and visiting my JustGiving page.
I ran the 2012 London Marathon supporting the OurSpace Appeal for the Teenage and Young Person Cancer Unit in the Leicester Children's Hospital, hoping to raise at least £3,000. Clearly I've now passed the target, but don't let that stop you!
Those of you that know me well will be aware I dabble in distance running with a few 10k's and half marathon's under my belt, but the marathon proved very challenging. I was comfortable at a good pace until around 22 miles when I began to cramp and finally found my way across the line in a time of 3hrs 41mins after giving it everything I'd got. I was delighted to learn this had me in 6514th place out of over 37,000 entrants.
Without your donations running a marathon in anytime wouldn't represent anything more than a personal achievement, please donate what you can to ensure many more teenagers and young people will benefit from it.
My original fundraising target was £2,000 but I am delighted to exceed that with the support of Brookvale High School in Groby who chose the OurSpace appeal as the focus for their fundraising activities throughout the school year. Thank you to all at Brookvale for supporting the appeal.
