We believe in the power of education to help end poverty

Story

This year my school has decided to raise money for disadvanteged children in Africa who are not as fortunate as us and do not have access to a good education. This is something I've wittnessed when I went to africa last year and visited a school near Lewa in . I saw that they work in very small, cramped, wooden huts with holes in and they have to share text books, some of them have to sit on the floor because of the lack of desks and chairs. There are not enough teachers and there are groups of all ages bieng taught by 1 teacher with more than 40 children in the classroom. The saddest thing i was told was that for some of the children the only sure meal they got was once a day at school.

So the whole of my school is trying to raise money for Build Africa, a charity dedicated to building schools in and and giving the children they help a future, through sponsored events of our own choosing.

My friend Guy and I have decided to do a 55km bike ride during the Easter holidays along the . We are planning on cycling from Whitstable to Deal on 9th/10th April. We are following the coastline the whole way wherever possible and will be camping one night near my school. In case any of you are worried, we will not be unaccompanied - we are dragging our lazy fathers along for the ride too.

Please help me raise money to support these children and give them a brighter future!
