When one of my organ pupils was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia earlier this year, I was devastated. I decided I should do something concrete to support research into cures for leukaemia. Thanks to the staff of University College, London, Hospital, he is now well on the way to recovery, though the effects of chemotherapy have had a severe effect on his life.
Donations will go towards an Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia research project examining effectiveness of Minimal Residual Disease Tests in determining optimal treatment at an early stage of disease; this project will be carried out at UCLH.
I'm not sure where the idea of playing all the organ works of Bach in one sitting came from - but that's what I did, on Monday 2nd July at Radley College. Thanks to my team of helpers - bringing food and drink, turning pages - and a fantastic level of support from boys, dons and visitors at Radley, I managed it - I have sore arms, but a happy smile!
Please, please donate generously, ideally online (where claiming the tax back from Alistair Darling is easy).
