Story
Starting at 12 noon Thursday 16th March, Orchard Park Garden Centre Managing Director Richard Cumming and his son Robbie, who also works in the garden industry, join other members of Orchard Park for a special Garden Re-Leaf challenge. The 24hr Plant-athon is done in a relay format, with at least one person planting at all times, with the aim of creating attractive potted arrangements from a variety of seasonal bedding plants. Customers will be welcomed to take part, potting and learning from experts, taking a glove selfie (or #Gluvie), or even buying the freshly potted up plants that include a donation to Greenfingers.
Garden Re-Leaf Day is a national charity day to help raise funds for Greenfingers - a small charity that creates much needed gardens and play areas for children's hospices around the country.
Suppliers such as Scotts Miracle Gro, Woodlodge and Tom Chambers have also pledged to support the Plant-athon which is fantastic and will ensure top quality.
The event will be live streamed on periscope at certain points throughout - via www.twitter.com/@gardenreleaf - and also on the Orchard Park Facebook page. If you leave your name on JustGiving we will give you a shout out!
