Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please give me any support you can and sponsor me online for my participation in this relay Channel swim. This is a huge challenge - the average Channel swim distance is 26 miles in water temperatures of 15 degrees Centigrade at best, with only a layer of goose fat and a pair of Speedos for protection! All the expenses, including the compulsory pilot boat, are already accounted for, so all the money which I raise will go directly to my three chosen charities.
I have decided to support the building of this new hospice for teenagers, Jack's Place @ Naomi House, as I feel a real drive to do something to help other teenagers who need the care and the special facilities that this amazing place will provide for them. Jack's Place is going to be built on land adjacent to the existing children's hospice, Naomi House, and has been designed specifically for teenagers who have outgrown Naomi House. (It doesn't yet have its own separate charity registration but donations on this website will go to Jack's Place, I am assured.)
I'm also swimming the Channel on behalf of Bone Cancer Research Trust and Help for Heroes - supporting wounded soldiers returning from serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you would also like to support these charities you can visit my pages at:
www.justgiving.com/olliecrosthwaiteeyre-bcrt (for Bone Cancer Research Trust)
www.justgiving.com/olliecrosthwaiteeyre-h4h (Help for Heroes)
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Naomi House Children’s Hospice (Wessex Children's Hospice Trust) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
